A Storied Past in the Heart of Wells
This hotel has a fantastic location in the city of Wells, being right in the centre with plenty of shops and places to visit. For 600 years they have had many guests enjoy this wonderful inn, with a few famous faces too. The Cathedral is directly opposite the hotel and you can admire its magnificence from our outside seating area, directly leading into the Cathedral gardens. For film buffs, this hotel also had various scenes filmed here for the well known Simon Pegg film ‘Hot Fuzz’.
The City of Wells is full of rich historic sites, perfect to explore. From the Castle to the Cathedral, walking through Wells is like taking a trip through the ages. If you are a film buff, you may recognise many places from the famous film ‘Hot Fuzz’, there is even a guided tour you can take to see all the major places in the film. There are plenty of shops to enjoy also.

Visited for a two night stay in February on the Dine and Unwind package. This includes two nights B&B and a three course dinner on the first night. The checking in experience was really easy and the staff were super helpful with local knowledge and dining reservations etc.
We had a four poster room in the old part of the hotel which was spacious and clean but could do with some tlc. The included dinner was lovely with free choice of the whole menu. Breakfast was a full hot and cold buffet with optional freshly cooked hot choice from the menu.
The staff cannot be commended highly enough. All super friendly, helpful and happy to chat. Quick shout out to Cathu, Cory, Kyle, Jelena and Leeroy. Would highly recommend this hotel for location, staff and food!
