Pride is More Than Just a Month—It’s a Lifelong Commitment

Title: Pride is More Than Just a Month—It’s a Lifelong Commitment
Every year, as June rolls around, businesses around the world drape themselves in rainbow logos, launch Pride-themed products, and pledge their so-called ‘support’ for the LGBTQ+ community. But as soon as the calendar flips to July, many of these same companies quietly remove their rainbows, halt their campaigns, and go back to business as usual.
Let’s be clear: the fight for LGBTQ+ rights doesn’t end on June 30th. It’s a 24/7, 365-day battle for equality, respect, and the right to simply exist without fear.
Performative Allyship vs. Real Support
A true ally is someone who stands with us every single day, not just when it’s profitable or trendy. If a business truly supports LGBTQ+ rights, they need to:
Stand against discrimination in policies and practices year-round
Support LGBTQ+ employees and customers beyond just Pride Month
Donate to organizations that fight for LGBTQ+ rights—not just launch rainbow merchandise
Speak out against injustices, even when it’s uncomfortable or inconvenient
The Fight is Still Very Real
Yesterday, Hungary took a devastating step backwards by banning all Pride marches and events. This is a chilling reminder that for every bit of progress we make, there are forces actively working to push us back. From attacks on trans rights to book bans and anti-LGBTQ+ legislation, we are still fighting for our basic human rights across the globe. This is why we need true allies—every single day.
What Can You Do?
To businesses and allies reading this: your support should not be conditional or seasonal. Stand with us not just in June, but in July, October, and every single month of the year.
Educate yourself and your team—LGBTQ+ history and struggles are not just topics for one month.
Continue the conversation—Keep sharing, advocating, and speaking up against injustice.
Support queer-owned businesses—Help uplift those who are at the heart of the community.
Vote for leaders who stand for LGBTQ+ rights—Your voice and your vote matter.
Pride is not a trend. It’s a movement. It’s a fight for survival. It’s a demand for equality. Be an ally all year round.

All good points! I would add to that — if you’re a blog like this one, consider making friends with the multitude of LGBTQIA+ artists out there and asking, exchanging something for (or even outright paying!) them to do your cover art.
(I believe Adobe Stock compensate and credit those whose work is used in their generation model, if you must use it)
