About | 40FT Brewery is an independent brewery and taproom located in Dalston, Hackney, London. Established in 2015 by four friends—Steve Ryan, Ben Ott, and brothers Fredrik and Andreas Pettersson—the brewery began its journey in two 20-foot shipping containers within a disused car park, which inspired its name. Over the years, 40FT Brewery has expanded by adding more shipping containers, growing its team to 15 members, and brewing up to 8,000 pints weekly. Their taproom, which was honored as the UK’s Best Independent Craft Beer Taproom by SIBA in 2021, offers ten taps pouring fresh beer brewed on-site, including core range beers, special releases, and collaboration brews. The taproom also provides natural wines, guest ciders, cocktails, and a limited food menu from their sister venue, Acme Fire Cult. In addition to their brewing endeavors, 40FT Brewery is committed to community engagement. Their “Dalston Sunrise” beer is a purpose-driven brew, with 10% of its profits donated monthly to local charities selected by the staff. They also proudly sponsor the Tower Hamlets Women’s Football Club. Located at The Bootyard, Abbot Street Carpark, Dalston, E8 3DP, the taproom operates from Tuesday to Sunday, with varying hours throughout the week. |
