Pride exists to bring the LGBT+ community together, to celebrate how diverse we are as a group of wonderful people, to remember how far we’ve come and to remind ourselves and the world how much more we still have to achieve. It’s about visibility, education and celebration. Nottingham Pride has been around in many formats over the years. We believe Notts Pride respects that history and reflects the fabulous diversity in our city. Nottinghamshire Pride will always be free to all and will celebrate the wonderful LGBTQ+ Talent across our City and County.
Parade
The Pride March will start at 11:00 (assemble at 10:00) from the junction of Lister Gate and Castle Gate (outside M&S), you will see a yellow sign that say’s “Pride Marchers” please start to assemble at this point. Notts Pride begins with a visibility march through the city centre of more than 11,000 LGBTQ+ people and allies. Many businesses, charities, groups and organisations join us, while many march as individuals, couples and families. Our Pride march stewards will be on hand to help guide and organise those taking part and will be there if you have any questions or need assistance. We love to see such large numbers taking part in the march but remember to plan ahead as you may be on your feet for quite some time. Sun protection and plenty of water are both highly recommended.
The Market
From 12:00. Around 5,000 people join us in the afternoon, with educational stalls weaving their way through the streets of Nottingham. You will find local grassroots community groups, charities, organisations and staff networks who offer services, support and information to LGBTQ+ people.
Festival
From 12:00. The theme of celebration continues throughout the day as we provide a central stage for a host of artists from Nottinghamshire’s LGBTQ+ community. From spoken word poets and musicians to drag artists, we recognise the importance of celebrating local talent and they will always be our headliners. If the main stage reaches capacity, our security may pause admitting people to the stage area for a short while for health and safety reasons, so please do not be offended if this happens. There is plenty going on for everyone to enjoy.
Family Area
From 12:00, activities for families and younger people. If you need some quiet time or a place to sit away from the crowds, this will be the place to be.
